This is the blog for the Queer Media Festival founded in 2014 and held in Manchester/Salford every November and you can find us at Facebook and @QueerMediaUK on Twitter.
The first QMFUK was held at the Digital Performance Lab in MediaCityUK in Salford, England on Friday 7th February 2014 as part of LGBT History Month celebrations and on the day the Sochi Winter Olympics opened.
That day we showed 20 short films and invited six LGBT media professionals to have conversations with our hosts about how they developed their media careers or created the films we’d screened in a celebration of LGBT storytelling through films, in-conversations and performances with the festival being opened by a poet and closed by a singer.
And something more recent..
Jamie Starboisky, our Festival Director spoke at Mojocon in Ireland – the mobile filmmaking conference and also check out our Queer Media Festival 2017 trailer.
